FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about our terms, liability, and services.

Are your freight quotes guaranteed?

No. All quotes are estimates based on information you provide at the time of the request. Final pricing may change due to fuel surcharges, carrier rate adjustments, currency fluctuations, or changes to your shipment details. A rate is only locked in once you receive a written booking confirmation from us.

Who is responsible if my cargo is lost or damaged?

Decent Logistics Ltd's liability is limited to the declared cargo value or the statutory minimum under applicable freight conventions (Warsaw for air, Hague-Visby for ocean), whichever is lower. We strongly recommend taking out comprehensive cargo insurance for every shipment. Claims must be submitted in writing within 7 calendar days of delivery.

What goods will you not ship?

We do not knowingly transport illegal goods, counterfeit items, narcotics, undeclared hazardous materials, weapons, or any cargo prohibited under Bangladesh law or the laws of the origin or destination country. The client bears full legal and financial responsibility for any prohibited items found in a shipment.

Who handles customs clearance — you or me?

We act as your customs agent and handle the paperwork and clearance process on your behalf. However, you remain legally responsible for the accuracy of all declarations and for ensuring your goods comply with import/export regulations. We are not liable for penalties resulting from incorrect or incomplete documentation you provide.

What happens if my payment is late?

Late payments attract an interest charge of 2% per month on the outstanding balance. We also reserve the right to withhold or place a lien on your cargo until outstanding charges are settled.

Can I cancel a booking after confirmation?

Yes, but cancellation fees may apply depending on how far along the shipment process is at the time of cancellation. We will notify you of any applicable charges before finalizing the cancellation.

Are your delivery timelines guaranteed?

Transit times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Delays can occur due to weather, port congestion, customs holds, public holidays, or carrier issues beyond our control. We will notify you of significant delays as soon as we become aware of them.

Which law governs these Terms & Conditions?

These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Any disputes are to be resolved through negotiation first; if unresolved within 30 days, through arbitration or the courts of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
